August 26th, 2021, was a somber day for the military community. An act of cruelty took 13 of our service members at the bombing of Abby Gate.
May we honor their sacrifice and their service.
May we never forget that freedom isn’t free.
My household was coming off of an 11-month deployment and in the middle of the reintegration process. The news of this attack hit close to home and left me in a whirlwind of emotions. The only thing I knew I could do was to pray and write words of encouragement to a hurting military community.
This picture is the content I wrote for Homefront Heroes Ministries on 8/26/21.
Today as I reflect on what occurred the emotions come flooding back.
I pray for the families that were affected on that day.
I pray for our service members that have sacrificed so much.
Today I will pause and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Speak their names and remember that freedom isn’t free.
