Camp Life is the Best Life

*** ATTENTION MILITARY FAMILIES ***

This content is for you if you are on active duty and currently serving at Ft. Carson, Colorado, Ft. Hood, Texas, or JBLM, Washington. Okay, let's be honest for a minute... if you are considered an active-duty family and currently stationed elsewhere, this content is also for you because, eventually, you may end up at one of the three places listed above.

Show of hands if you have heard of Military Family Adventures.

No one?

Okay... show of hands if you have heard of Club Beyond or Younglife.

A few more of you... Yay.

(View from the deck of Trail West Lodge; Also, the view we were able to wake up to every single morning during our stay.)

What if I told you that you, as an active-duty military family, can go to a young life camp for one week during the summer for a military family adventure? One week away to soak in quality time with your kids and spouse, incredible activities and entertainment, fantastic food, and a chance to create memories you will cherish for the rest of your life.

I know... I know... if you are making a shocked face right now, you are not alone. That was my face when I first heard about such an opportunity.

How is it that after 13 years of being married and living the military lifestyle, I am just now hearing about such a thing?

This must be one of the military's best-kept secrets.

If you are reading this and thinking, Val, this sounds too good to be true. How can I sign my family up for a week-long family vacation that costs a minimal amount... you are in luck. It just so happens that I have the Military Family Adventure 2023 Application link for all 3 locations. I will post the affiliate links at the bottom of this blog post.

In the next post, I will go into more detail about our overall experience of Trail West Lodge, the activities, and what a blessing it was to our family. For now, know that if you are stationed at one of the three locations listed above and have the chance to go... DO IT.

Don't sleep on this opportunity.

Our family was initially set to attend the Buena Vista, Colorado camp in 2019. Unfortunately, Covid had other plans for everyone. Thankfully we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go in the summer of 2020, right after my husband returned home from a lengthy deployment.

Having family time and getting away for a bit would be great. I knew we all wanted to go. I didn't realize how much we all NEEDED to go. That week away left an impact on my entire family. It's a week that we continue to talk about almost three years later.

This is not just any old camp. The camp in Colorado is like a little oasis in the middle of the beautiful Rocky mountains. After a season of feeling so depleted and empty, my family left with our hearts overflowing.

The staff went above and beyond to love on us and make us feel seen, known and loved. I hope you get the opportunity to go and experience what military family adventures camp is all about. Be sure to send this post to someone that needs to know about this opportunity.
